Yoga

Yoga has become increasingly popular in today's mind, health and body fitness regimes. By performing a series of exercises in a specific stream, various degrees of yoga can promise different results from a firm, tight body to an overall relaxed state of being. There is a flavor of yoga to suit every taste, which will often adopt their own trademark or brand name. Ashtanga Yoga, Forrest Yoga and Bikram (hot) yoga San Diego, for example, offer a hard-hitting, athletic workout. Iyengar yoga will focus on alignment as it satisfies the intellect for those who crave precision. You may not have thought that yoga would make a great spa gift San Diego but you would be surprised to see how many people choose this healing rejuvenating treat.

The gentle, flowing Viniyoga style and the heart-centered Anusara style promise a deeper connection with the soul. There are also the less traditional styles such as YogaFit and YogaLates - a blend of yoga and Pilates. Each class consists of a series of poses (asanas) named in English and in Sanskrit (an ancient Indian language), depending on the preference of the teacher. The same asanas will be described in different ways in the different styles of yoga, but the final result is often the same. Yoga works to liberate the energy of the body so that it can be fully alive.

Yoga effectively promotes health of the body as well as the mind and increases the flow of energy through your body. Yoga is practiced by many to achieve various goals. You can be performed strictly for the flexibility-enhancing benefits, or to destress from the daily grind. Yoga would be of benefit therapeutically, to increase strength and ease back pain, or to relieve the effects of stress-related illnesses. More profoundly, though, the practice of yoga will most have a positive effect on your mind and body.
